How to Prepare Your Yard
Pick your spot
Choose a level area in your yard where you want the shed. Keep it at least 5 feet from fences and property lines. Check your city setback rules.
Level the ground
The ground should be as level as possible. Our driver can adjust up to 18 inches with concrete blocks, but a flat surface makes for the best result. Remove any big rocks, stumps, or debris.
Clear the access path
The delivery truck needs a path at least 2 feet wider than your building. If your shed is 10 feet wide, you need a 12-foot wide path from the street to the spot.
Check overhead clearance
The truck and shed need at least 14 feet of overhead clearance. Look for tree branches, power lines, and roof overhangs along the entire path.
Open or remove gates
Your gate must be at least 2 feet wider than the shed. If your gate is too narrow, remove fence panels before delivery day. We do not remove or replace fences.
Mark the exact spot
Put stakes or flags where you want the corners of the shed. This helps the driver place it exactly where you want it.
Access Requirements
Our delivery truck needs room to back the shed into your yard. Here are the minimums.
- Path width: At least 2 feet wider than your building
- Overhead clearance: At least 14 feet (watch for trees and power lines)
- Gate opening: At least 2 feet wider than the shed
- Ground slope: No more than 18 inches across the shed footprint
- We do not: Remove old sheds, fences, trees, or debris. That is the customer's job.
