Shed Build Specs
Floor construction, decking options, weight limits, siding, roofing, and warranty coverage — everything you need to know about what you're buying.
Floor System
4×6" Pressure-Treated Notched Skids
Every shed sits on 4×6" pressure-treated skids that resist rot and ground moisture. The skids are notched at 12" or 16" on center, and floor joists are recessed and toenailed into those notches. This locks the entire floor system in place so the building can be loaded, unloaded, and moved without warping or racking.
Floor Weight Limits by Decking & Joist Spacing
Point load capacity depends on the decking thickness and floor joist spacing you choose. All point loads must be spread over an area of at least 5" × 5".
| Floor Decking | 16" OC Point Load (lbs) | 12" OC Point Load (lbs) |
|---|---|---|
| 5/8" Floor Decking (Standard) | 300 | 450 |
| 3/4" Floor Decking (Upgraded) | 500 | 700 |
| Doubled 3/4" Floor Decking (Heavy Duty) | 1,050 | 1,500 |
| Lofts | 200 | — |
