RV Clearance Guide — What Sidewall Height Do You Need?
Measure from the ground to the top of your rooftop AC. Add 18–24 inches. That is your minimum sidewall height. When in doubt, order taller — it costs very little to upgrade.

Why Vertical Roof Is the Only Option for RV Covers
Horizontal-panel roofs look the same from the ground. They perform completely differently. For a structure that will shelter a $50,000–$250,000 vehicle, vertical roof is non-negotiable.

What roof style do you recommend for RV covers?
Always vertical. Vertical-panel roofs shed water and snow directly off the sides. Horizontal or boxed-eave panels trap debris and hold moisture. Every RV cover we install is vertical roof standard.
How tall should my RV cover be?
Measure from the ground to the top of your rooftop AC unit — that is your actual RV height. Add 18–24 inches for clearance. Most Class A motorhomes need a 14' sidewall. Diesel pushers often need 16'. When in doubt, go taller — upgrading sidewall height is cheap insurance.
Can I enclose the sides later?
Yes. Our RV covers are designed to accept enclosed sides, end walls, or a combination. Many customers start with a basic open cover and add a roll-up door and enclosed end walls later. We can quote the upgrade at the time of your original order.
Do RV covers require a permit in Texas?
It depends on your county and city. Most unincorporated rural areas in North Texas do not require a permit for open-sided carport structures. Cities like Denton and Wichita Falls typically require a permit for structures over 200 sq ft. We recommend calling your local building department before ordering.
How long does installation take?
Most RV covers are installed in one day. A crew arrives, preps the site, sets anchors, and assembles the structure from the ground up. You do not need to be home during installation, but we recommend it for site walk-through.
What financing options are available?
We offer no-credit-check rent-to-own (RTO) financing on all carports and RV covers. Pay weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. No balloon payments. Own it in 36, 48, or 60 months. There is no penalty for early payoff.
