What Size Shed Do I Need?
The Complete Texas Guide
From a basic push-mower shed to a full workshop with ATVs, this guide gives you real interior dimensions, what actually fits, and a use-case recommender — so you order the right size the first time.
Door width note: Our standard shed door is 6 feet wide. A riding mower with a 54-inch (4.5 ft) deck fits through with clearance — but measure your specific machine first. Wide-load ATVs over 60 inches may need a custom door.

The "Go One Size Up" Rule
Every shed owner we've talked to says the same thing: "I wish I'd gone bigger." Here's why — and the math behind it.
25%
Buffer we recommend beyond your current needs
~$40/mo
Typical RTO cost to step up one size (e.g. 10×16 → 12×16)
2–3 yrs
Average time before a "right-sized" shed feels too small
If you're torn between two sizes, choose the larger one. Going from a 10×16 to a 12×16 adds 32 sq ft and typically costs less than $50/month extra on RTO. Buying a second shed years later will cost far more — and delivery fees alone often exceed the size-up cost.

NTSS's #1 bestseller. Under most city permit thresholds and fits a riding mower with room to spare.
Room for ATVs, tack, feed bins, and a workbench. Lofted barn style adds overhead hay/gear storage.
240–288 sq ft gives you real bench space and tool walls without needing a steel building permit.
A portable shed cannot replace a 2-car garage. You need a steel garage with engineered footings.
Loft adds a sleeping or storage deck. Enough floor space for a couch, mini fridge, and AC unit.
