About the Side Utility

The Side Utility is identical to the standard Utility shed with one key difference: the double doors are on the long side of the building instead of the end. This makes it easier to position against a fence, along a property line, or in a tight backyard where end-entry would be awkward.

Best for:

  • Properties with limited end access
  • Placement along a fence line
  • Tight or narrow backyard spaces
  • Bulk floor storage with easy side entry

Standard Features

  • Low-pitch gable roof
  • 92" interior wall height
  • Side-entry double wooden doors with lockset
  • Two 2×3ft windows with screens
  • Heavy-duty durable hinges
  • Spring latch hooks on both doors
  • LP SmartSide siding — 50-year warranty
  • 29-gauge metal roof — 30-year warranty

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Utility and Side Utility?

The doors are on the long side wall instead of the end. Everything else — framing, siding, roof, wall height — is the same.

Does the Side Utility come with windows?

Yes. The Side Utility includes two 2×3ft windows with latches and screens as standard.

What do I need to get started on an RTO shed?

Bring your deposit (cash, check, or card) and two forms of ID. Your first must be a current — not expired — driver's license or state-issued ID. Your second can be any government ID (photo not required; a state fishing license qualifies) or a credit card with your name on it. The RTO form asks for your Social Security Number, email, phone, employment info, and two references (name and phone number — neither can live with you). You'll verify by SMS, so have your cell phone with you. If you rent your home, bring your landlord's contact info.

Is there a credit check for rent-to-own?

No credit check at all. No bank involved. You just need your deposit, valid ID, and a place to put the building.
